Community work

The following allocations have been made in Botswana:

Barclays partners with Stepping Stones
Barclays Bank of Botswana has entered into a partnership with Stepping Stones International based in the village of Mochudi. The partnership seeks to address the development of entrepreneurial skills, employment, financial education and financial inclusion especially among the youth.

Stepping Stones International (SSI) is an organization which aims to nurture positive growth and development of orphaned and vulnerable children academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually through expression activities, sports, learning study skills, job skills training, and life skills while providing psychosocial support to the children and their families.

Barclays will, over the three years donate a total of £62769 to the project.

Barclays Mogae Scholarship
Barclays Mogae Scholarship Launch; On the 30th July 2008, BBB launched the scholarship which will benefit 25 individuals studying in

different academic fields. BBB has committed P1.5 million to the scholarship.

Cancer Association of Botswana
BBB has sponsored Cancer Association of Botswana to the tune of P150, 000. The association has already started workshops to raise awareness on cancer issues.


Community work

 

Gabane Home Based Care 8000 towards the construction of a day care centre for orphans. The centre provides services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Step-Ahead Project

Colleagues walked 138 380km and raised £21,872 for charitable organizations.
